Your First 8 Weeks on The Team
Build the foundations step by step: organize a case, ask questions, and answer arguments. Complete your first full debate to graduate from the beginner program.

Weekly Live Coaching
Practice speaking and debating in live Zoom labs. Small-group activities and personalized coaching feedback help your student build skills and confidence alongside teammates.

Weekly Debate Opportunities
After the beginner program, your student can debate weekly for the remainder of the semester, strengthening cases and applying feedback on the same season-long topic.

Championship Showcase
During showcase month, students compete in four structured rounds for a chance to reach the public championship debate, where families and teammates celebrate their progress.

After completing the beginner program, your student continues with the team through weekly online debate opportunities. Students develop their arguments on one topic throughout the semester, then put their preparation to the test during our championship showcase month.

Your student can compete weekly after the beginner program, gaining experience presenting cases, answering opponents, and applying feedback before the season’s showcase.
Championship Showcase Debates
Four structured competitive rounds give students a chance to earn a place in the public championship debate. Families and teammates watch, follow the arguments, and celebrate their progress.
Join the Elite Team
Students that are enjoying our weekly and monthly debates will be asked to join our Elite team. We partner with the NCFCA league to deliver a Christian based, homeschool approved, debate circuit to take your skills to the next level!

MEET YOUR COACH
Jeremiah Ussery
Founder & Head Coach, Premier Debate Academy
Jeremiah is a national champion debater, former Indiana state champion, and former head debate coach at a D1 High School. He attended Liberty University on a debate scholarship and has coached students who qualified for the NSDA National Tournament.
He founded Premier Debate Academy to help students find their voice and grow as part of a debate team. Through guided preparation, practical feedback, and competition, Jeremiah helps beginners build confidence and returning debaters strengthen their skills.

Fall 2026 Debate Resolution
“Resolved: Freedom of speech ought to be protected even when the speech causes significant social harm.”
This fall, students will explore the tension between individual liberty and society’s responsibility to address harm. Drawing on thinkers such as John Stuart Mill and John Rawls, they will develop affirmative and negative arguments about freedom, justice, and the limits of expression.
Students practice evaluating competing perspectives through structured, respectful discussion. Learning to argue both sides develops reasoning skills; it does not require students to adopt a particular political position.
